"We booked Special Moments and had Brian as our DJ for our big day. The level of customer service we received from him was phenomenal which was such a relief when you are planning a wedding. He took the time to meet with us several times and walk us through his detailed planning document so that everything was lined up and perfect for the wedding day! Let me tell you, personality was at the top of our list when booking a DJ and Brian is awesome! He has great charisma, is easy to work with, and reads the crowd well. There were always people on the dance floor and I got so many compliments from guests afterwards that had a great time! Planning a wedding was extremely challenging with the current pandemic, but Brian was able to work with us on last minute changes due to changes with our venue and timing. Brian was on top of our event schedule during the ceremony and reception so we never had to worry about when or where we needed to be which allowed us to be able to enjoy every moment without looking at the clock! I would book Special Moments again in a heartbeat if I ever need a DJ in the future."

"Covid19 Wedding – 2020! A special SHOUT OUT to Special Moments Entertainment and our DJ Rob and his partner, Tabitha! This year (2020) has been such a roller-coaster ride that made planning a wedding even more stressful than usual. Weekly updates to the Governor’s Executive Orders requiring limited gatherings had created new challenges for our wedding date, as well as the well-being of our family and friends. Two weeks before our event, we decided to make extreme changes to our ceremony venue to allow for proper social distancing – but still being able to proceed with our wedding. Rob, Special Moments Entertainment, was more than our DJ. He really is quite knowledgeable about the wedding process itself; and was a huge help in keeping things moving along, making suggestions that were considerate of our guests, and supporting the evening in full. From our cocktail hour, through dinner, and then the dance party – Rob kept all our family and friends entertained. He kept a great pulse on our guests, always choosing a wonderful assortment of music perfect for that exact moment in time. Guests of all ages were entertained, dancing, and enjoying every moment of our special day. The lighting used helped create such a fantastic energy!! I cannot thank him and Tabitha enough for making our day such a huge success! So many people were complimenting us on our DJ, saying how much fun they were having! "We were lucky enough to get our wedding in the last weekend before everything seemed to shut down (March 7, 2020) and let me tell you Brian made it one heck of a party. Brian and his wife are phenomenal. We had our wedding at the Ford Piquette Plant which is beautiful (recommend 15/10), but also comes pretty bare bones. Now this is where Brian comes in. I attended a wedding of some good friends and they had Brian DJ their wedding. Planning a wedding can get annoying, so I was all for recommendations. My friends loved Brian, so we decided to reach out. Brian was the only DJ we contacted, and I could not have been happier. He's organized, meticulous, professional, but super chill. Brian was not only our reception DJ, he and his wife also did all the music and organization for our ceremony. They made sure everything ran smoothly. I was so lucky to have my vendors, I literally didn't have to think about or worry about a thing on our wedding day. Brian and his wife organized a beautiful ceremony and I honestly danced for three hours straight at the reception. I ended my wedding night with my hair down, shoes MIA (recovered at the venue the next day lol), White Castles, and some Ludacris...so what I would call a great party. "Brian was our DJ for our wedding this past February. We chose him/ Special Moments Entertainment after a recommendation and seeing him in action at another wedding. He did an amazing job at keeping people on the dance floor all night!! When we were originally looking at music options for our wedding, we were deciding on whether we wanted a band (super expensive) or a DJ (more affordable). We really wanted that big band feel of excitement and energy and getting the guests up and moving...and let me tell you Brian did a fantastic job! I have been to many weddings and guests who aren't big dancers tend to sit and mingle and maybe get up for one dance or so and head home. Brian brings lots of experience and knowledge with him on a great variety of music, special dances, and ways to get guests up and moving. There were far more people than I would have expected who stayed up until the end of the night when it was time for Brian to end and go home. "Brian at Special Moments Entertainment is by far the best DJ ever! Honestly, hands down! And that's not just my opinion, so many people during our wedding came up to my wife and I and said, “Your DJ is amazing! The music and his voice! He is the best ever!” And we 100% agree! Anyone could play good music, but Brian is a total professional and knows exactly what songs to play to get people out on the dance floor, and keep them dancing all night long! He also is a total pro with the sentimental songs and moments and sincerely does want to be a part of making this a once and lifetime experience for the entire audience! He has a sincere heartfelt passion for music and his profession and my wife and I felt like we hit the jackpot with having him as our DJ and MC! He always brings a backup set of equipment for good faith, he meets with you personally before the wedding to go over in detail exactly what you are envisioning for your wedding reception, makes professional suggestions, and all at the same time is fun to hang out with! My wife and I are forever grateful for Brian! He has the experience, an amazing voice, energy, kindness, passion, top of the line professional equipment and a love for music that truly makes him the best of the best!"

"Brian (and his wife) we're amazing! We have nothing but good things to say about them! Brian met with us a few different times and had multiple phone conversations with myself and my husband to make sure our wedding ceremony music and reception music was done exactly the way we wanted it. Brian even worked with us on our grand entrance dance which we wanted a little different than the norm and he got it perfect! Long story short, I planned a surprise gift giving for my husband that was supposed to be videotaped by our videographer but I had to do it early because some of our guests that wanted to see me present this gift to my husband, had to leave early and our video person couldn't make it back in time so Brian's wife stepped in and did the video for us! She also took many random photos throughout the night. After our wedding day they sent us a flash drive with the videos and pictures on it at no additional charge even though we offered. Brian did awesome with the different genres of music since we had guests from 80 to 2 at our wedding. Everyone was up and dancing all night. Everyone had a blast. He is not only good at music but good and MC'ing as well. He got to our venue very early to set up and test his equipment and even stayed longer than we had originally anticipated. He was professional and fun at the same time. We highly recommend him!! You will be very pleased!"

When my husband and I were searching for a DJ for our wedding, we really wanted to find someone who would make sure the dance floor stayed full all night, who kept us on schedule throughout the evening, and was also an affordable option for two college students (like ourselves). He also provided advice related to other wedding topics/events based on his past experiences. "Our wedding was a BLAST. Brian kept our dance floor packed the entire night, and everyone was having so much fun dancing. He even got my family onto the dance floor, and they almost never dance. I’ve received so many compliments about our Dj, and I couldn’t be happier with how great of a job Brian did! He also did our uplighting which looked fantastic. I was worried about it looking too neon and colorful, but I also didn’t want bland, however, he told me not to worry. He seriously delivered and the venue looked amazing. My husband and I also really enjoyed the planning process, because Brian was on top of everything. We were able to be confident throughout the whole event that everything would flow smooth and it did. We could focus on the fun, dancing etc. with our loved ones. From the moment the first guest walked in until the last guest left went wonderful. When the dancing started there was not a single empty space on the dance floor. "I knew from being at past weddings that a DJ can make or break a wedding. I spent months researching DJs and when I found one with decent reviews I’d check every website possible to make sure there were no negative reviews. Everyone had at least one “not perfect” review in my mind... besides Brian (Special Moments). I actually ended up telling him that the first time we spoke because I was so incredibly impressed. He had to be too good to be true.... he’s not!! He’s the best. We didn’t even get to meet him in person.. 2 long Skype calls and we completely trusted this person to put on our wedding.. that says something!! Our wedding was all outside (ceremony and then barn reception) and it was record high heat (feels like 100 kinda heat). There were people on the dance floor ALL night long. We had people comment on his amazing personality, and how he interacted with guests. He made sure he knew our entire evening minute by minute so he could be completely in charge and take the stress off us and our family. Next thing we knew Brian would be tapping our shoulder telling us it’s time for the dance, cutting cake, etc. but it took the stress off us so we could enjoy our day and guests. "Special Moments Entertainment helped make my wedding absolutely perfect. Both my husband and I were planning a wedding from another state and so could only go based on reviews- Brian had the highest reviews in the area and we went with him. It was the BEST decision we could have ever made and I want to leave him an absolutely GLOWING review so that others are able to find him!!!! What a gem! We were particularly stressed about trying to balance two cultures in a wedding reception (Indian and American). We wanted to bring a mix of both to please all parties attending the wedding, but had no idea how to go about doing this. Meeting with Brian made all my fears and stresses go away. His primary goal was to make sure the music flowed well. We offered a few suggestions for songs and he took it from there. It turned out incredibly well!!! He got the vibe just right during dinner with a flawless mix of indian and western music, and then again during the dance portion of the evening. I personally thought the music was awesome but wondered if I was biased. However, many guests specifically came up to me to tell me just how awesome the music was. One guest told me that her boyfriend never dances and at our wedding he was out on the dance floor all night! Thank you SO much to Brian and his wife for making our evening perfect!! "Special Moments Entertainment is THE BEST DJ EVER!! My husband and I could not be happier that we chose to hire Brian from Special Moments Entertainment for our wedding! If you are looking for a DJ for your wedding, stop now, look no further, and set up an appointment with Brian because you will not be disappointed. Many of our wedding guests are still telling us how much fun they had and how much they LOVED the music that was played at our wedding. Our wedding was held in a barn, and although my husband and I love country music, we know not everyone likes country. Brian played just the right mix to keep everyone out on the dance floor while also incorporating some our our favorite country songs! Brian is not only a DJ but is also your MC for the night...he is not one of those guys that just sits behind the DJ booth and plays music, he actually interacts with the crowd and keeps your guests informed about what is going on the entire night. We found Brian through the recommendation of our photographer, Samantha Lee Photography, because the two work together often. Brian is a true professional in his field. He is very knowledgeable not only about music but about many aspects of wedding planning too. I made my wedding day timeline based off Brian's recommendations and the day worked out perfectly, we were on time the whole day! We first met with Brian in his home studio, where we spent about 2 hours getting to know each other. He showed us his equipment, played us many different samples of music, and walked us though his packages. We knew as soon as we left that we wanted to hire Brian for our wedding. He is so friendly, personal, and experienced, and the fact that he spent two hours with us before we even booked with him said alot. We called Brian the next day and booked with him! He provides you planning guides to get you thinking about the flow of your wedding day and about the songs you will need to pick out, which is very helpful. All along the way, Brian was easy to communicate with, whether by email or by phone. Fast forward to about a month before our big day when we set up another appointment to meet with Brian in person to go over our song selections for our wedding day. This time we spent about four hours at his home going over every single detail, from the beginning of the ceremony all the way to last call at the reception. Brian was so patient as we picked out songs for all the special moments of our wedding, making sure we were happy and confident with our selections. On the day of our wedding everything was beyond perfect! Be sure to have him do his special moments dance...we have some great video of our wedding guests all huddled in a circle around my husband and I, with Brian singing in the background! (Brian is an EXCELLENT singer too btw!!) We even made it through a brief interruption in the partying due to a tornado warning (remember, barn wedding! lol), but as soon as it was over, Brian got the music back on and we danced the night away! I know our wedding would't have been as great as it was without Brian from Special Moments Entertainment!"

"I am not sure how to put this in words without sounding kinda rude, but....you are stupid if you don't AT LEAST meet with Brian Hood from Special Moments Entertainment! He is an amazing DJ/ entertainer and person! Trust me...you, your friends, and family will NOT regret picking them for your big day! My husband and I got married two months ago and we are still hearing how awesome our DJ was. We were told by multiple people that "our wedding was one of the best weddings they have attended and the music was the best". The dance floor was full the entire night and everyone had a blast! From walking into the Tavern to the 1960s Batman Theme song to the Ninja Turtle rap, we could not have asked for anything better! He gave us a presentation on how he would emcee our reception and has a vast knowledge of music. My husband and I made an appointment to meet up with Brian at his house, where he was so polite and welcoming. Brian is very helpful, upfront, and honest with you. He’s extremely easy to get along with and was one of the easiest vendors for me to get in contact with. His song selection was great too, he plays something for everyone. Some of the songs I didn’t know, but my guests did and vice versa so everyone had a chance to dance and did! "Before you read this review about the BEST DJ EVER, you need to know a few things about me: (1.) Special Moments Entertainment/DJ Brian Hood played at my brother’s wedding in the fall, so I’ve seen Brian in action twice. As soon as I heard him play at my brother’s wedding, I knew we had to book him ASAP. I couldn’t have been as happy with any other DJ. (2.) The crowd LOVES him. Multiple guests at both my brother’s wedding & my wedding commented on how great the DJ was. Grandparents, parents, aunts/uncles, young folks alike loved his choice of music, & I don’t even think anyone thought to make a request (though of course you can) because his song selection is just so great. Great mixture of classic hits that get everyone moving & more contemporary stuff that really kick the wedding up another notch for all the younger folks in attendance. I have guests who have totally different musical tastes than me who commented on the music selection & how universally great it was. Since I had heard Brian play at my brother’s wedding, I gave him some recommendations of songs that were my favorites but largely gave him the choice to pick out music since I trusted him & knew he would have the best idea of what would be wedding music that would keep everyone dancing. (3.) He’s so much more than just a DJ. He is an awesome MC who totally works the room and gets everyone, the guests & the bridal party, amped up for the night. I had some pretty significant last minute crazy changes, & he didn’t get flustered at all. Just took care of it without a problem. He is also a performer with an incredible voice. I first found this out when Brian sang a 1960s classic at my brother’s wedding & I didn’t even know it was a live singer – I thought it was the recording. His voice is so incredible that a lot of people have to do a double take before they realize that it’s not a recording but an actual person singing. I have heard this independently from MULTIPLE guests how shocked & pleasantly surprised & impressed they were to see him up there singing! (4.) I’m terrible at planning events, but not only was Brian incredibly patient helping me plan the timeline for the entire night of my wedding, he was pleasant, kind, & humorous. He really took the time to get to know me through our phone conversations. He is VERY experienced & is literally an expert at helping plan the timeline for the wedding night & thought of details that hadn’t even occurred to me. I went into our phone call not really having any idea about the timing for the grand entrance, cake cutting, toasts, etc. & left the phone conversation feeling confident & in the know. It helped me relax esp. since I was planning from out-of-state & helped the night flow smoothly from event to event. (5.) His price is incredibly reasonable. With the benefit of hindsight & seeing him kick butt at two different weddings, quite honestly I would have paid an extra 50% of what he charges. HE IS WORTH EVERY PENNY, & I’m shocked he’s still so affordable. (6.) I literally was able to relax because I knew that he just does such a fantastic job at weddings. I knew our wedding was in good hands & that there was no question that people were going to have an incredible time. And we did. The dance floor was moving the entire night. Brian was enthusiastic and really helped set the mood. It was one of the one of the best nights of my life, and I have Brian to thank! So do yourself a favor and hire him!!!!"

"I used Special Moments Entertainment for my DJ and uplighting. From our first meeting with Brian, we knew he was the DJ for our wedding. He seemed very knowledgeable and organized. The planning forms that he gives you are very easy to fill out. He also goes over them with you at the final consultation to make sure he has everything correct, down to the annunciation of each name. Any questions that I had were promptly answered, and it was very easy getting in contact with him whether it was by phone or by e-mail. Brian's set-up looks amazing! He doesn't simply have a table with speakers next to it. If you go through the portfolio, you'll see that he has these two metal towers (not sure what they're called) on each side, with lights on them. It adds so much to the look of your room. His sound systems was really good. I never felt like the music was too loud, or too low. He has wireless microphones that also sound good to. He also has back-up equipment on hand. Brian is an awesome MC. Many of my guests have raved about just how nice of a voice he has! He speaks articulately and enthusiastically. He was dressed professionally, and even tries his best to color coordinate! He was a really great DJ. I have gotten so many compliments. In the end, he played for my crowd, and everyone was having a good time. He played the right songs to get people up on the dance floor, and followed it up with ones to get them to stay! The uplighting that he did was just amazing. I picked the colors (3), but he chose the placement of the 10 lights, and it turned out great. Brian's wife Sharon was also there as his assistant, and she was just great! She met up with us before our entrance into the reception just to touch bases and make sure that we still wanted the kids in the wedding party to be introduced. At that time, our two flowers girls, both ages 2 were already in the room. She went to go find my mom to get the girls out, so that they could be part of the introduction. She was also kind enough to sit with the girls while we took a wedding party picture in the lobby of the hall with just the adults before our introduction. Not to mention, she made sure that my daughter didn't get her flower girl dress dirty during dinner, by tucking a napkin into her collar! I'll just finish by saying that Brian Hood of Special Moments Entertainment was a great DJ. With him, it feels like you're the only couple that he's working with. He and his wife are such likable people, and they were an absolute pleasure to work with!"

"Brian did a phenomenal job at our wedding. His planning was thorough, precise, and he knew what to expect while easily explaining things for us. His prep form which he emailed for us to fill out was very simple to understand and complete. He also has a warming and welcoming voice on the microphone as well as a great singing voice (he sang a couples special dance song for us). During toasts he was also good at expecting where pictures were going to be coming from and avoided bring in any of our photos. His preparation was great as well as his "tear down" and conclusion at the end. He was a referral from our venue. Meeting with him prior was easy and he is a great conversationalist. All of our guests had great things to say and we recommended him to a number of friends planning weddings/events for next year. We left our music selection almost completely up to him with the exception if a few "no not play" songs and he had a good mix of newer dance songs as well as classic favorites which everybody recognizes. My wife and I had made the mistake of waiting until a few months before our wedding to start looking for a DJ, so we had many different meetings setup in order to select the best one. We had been to a few different meetings prior to meeting with Brian from Special Moments Entertainment, and we had a few scheduled with other DJ's after our meeting with him. We actually ended up cancelling our meetings that were scheduled after Brian, because he made us feel like we had known him for many years prior. It was like speaking to a long time family friend, or even an extended family member. He was very passionate about his work and was not afraid to show it. That is why we chose Special Moments, and now for what we loved about our experience. Seeing as how we were new to wedding planning, one of our favorite things about Brian and Special Moments is that they provide you with a packet that basically walks you through every important song on your big night. It is like a fill-in-the-blank guide to planning the music at your reception, and it helped a lot! Brian was also very helpful in suggesting songs for special dances and moments throughout the night, and he has very expansive knowledge of all genres of music. On top of the planning help, our package offered up-lighting which Special Moments offers in many different colors, and it turned out to be very beautiful at our reception. One of the other really important concepts that Brian and Special Moments Entertainment truly understood was that music can alter moods; therefore, there are certain times for certain types of music. Brian matched different types of music to different stages of the reception perfectly, such as when he played softer, slower, and quieter music during dinner. Another thing that my wife and I loved was that Brian would really only play songs that people could dance to, which is great because it really gets all of the guests on the floor and allows everyone to have a great time. Special Moments also provided each table with cards that our guests could write song requests on and Brian would play as many of them as possible, using his best judgement on whether or not they were appropriate of course (he has great judgement). Finally, one of our favorite parts about having Brian from Special Moments Entertainment DJ at our reception was that he did an awesome thing where we were both in the middle of the dance floor, our families surrounded us, and he actually sang us a song (he has an amazing voice) and had our family members and friends join him in singing. This really made our experience with Special Moments well...special! In the end everybody said that the food was good, the hall was beautiful, and most importantly - they all stressed this - they LOVED the DJ. Special Moments Entertainment stood out and was the "crowd favorite" at our wedding. We cannot thank Brian enough, and if you are looking for a DJ that is perfect then set up a meeting with Brian. "We got married on the coldest wettest day of the summer. We had an outdoor wedding at my Moms house on Lake St.Clair. Looking at the radar he night before the rain was supposed to stop early in the morning, however, it didn't even start raining until noon!
